UK Home Office launches investigation after Nigerian Oscar Okwurime dies in detention centre

BRITISH government officials have launched an investigation into the death of Nigerian Oscar Okwurime who died at an immigration detention centre next to Heathrow Airport where he was being held.

 

Mr Okwurime died at Harmondsworth on Thursday this week but the cause of his death is not yet known. Home Office officials have revealed that the police, the coroner and the prisons and probation ombudsman were investigating the matter to ascertain the cause of his death, which was sudden.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr loses his mother Elizabeth at the ripe old age of 97

SUPER Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has lost his mother Elizabeth who passed away quietly in her sleep yesterday at their home town of Mannheim in Germany at the ripe of age of 97 .

 

Elizabeth Rohr, was married to a former German footballer Philip and in 1953, they Gernot, who went on to become an international football manager. Already, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sent a condolence message to Mr Rohr, commiserating him over his loss.
