With Nigeria needing to generate about $100bn in foreign exchange annually we simply need to cash in on religion and make it a $20bn industry

(1) We need to build a holy city somewhere and name it Angelsville. We should sell it as a major tourist attraction like Paris Disneyland or Australia’s Tasmania. It should be the home of all sorts of biblical and mythical characters like black angels, burning bushes, winged humans, winged animals, centaurs, minotaurs, talking serpents, unicorns, etc. Let us aim to attract about 1m visitors a year

Debt Management Office concedes that Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb with high borrowing levels

NIGERIA'S Debt Management Office (DMO) has warned that the federal government is storing up problems for the future with its increased borrowing from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

 

As of December 2020, Nigeria's public debt was N32.9trn ($86.3bn) according to the most recent official data available. Of this total,  N12.7trn ($33.3bn) was external debt, contracted by the federal government, while N20.2trn ($53bn) was domestic debt, including loans taken from banks.
