My heart bleeds when I read about how Nigerians are donating money to buy medical equipment from abroad to combat Covid-19. No one has any surplus to sell so it is a futile exercise.
In war time, local production is the only way to survive. Our poverty of thinking is unprecedented. Every Nigerian needs to read this:

(1) I for one am impressed with the 200-bed isolation centre the Lagos State government has opened at the Onikan Stadium. It looks modern, well equipped, clean and is up to international standards. It even has individual fans for each patient, a personal bin and a general flatscreen TV
(2) We have heard that the Oyo State government is planning to open a 110-bed isolation centre in Ibadan. I look forward to seeing more pictures of the facility

(1) As the global lockdown continues, I am trying to count the economic cost. This shutdown will simply be devastating on mankind because we are consuming and not producing goods at the same rate. This is simply not sustainable for any lengthy period of time. It reminds me of the Great Depression that followed the 1929 Wall Street Crash
