Arsenal plan to purchase Swiss-Nigerian striker Noah Okafor from Austria in the summer

ENGLISH Premier League giants Arsenal gave begun drawing up plans to sign Nigerian-Swiss-born attacker Noah Okafor from Red Bull Salzburg in Austria during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

 

Born to a Nigerian father and Swiss mother, Okafor, 22 and valued at £25m, currently plays for Switzerland's national team, for who he has 12 caps. He joined Salzburg from Basel Basel in 2019 and since then, his valued has  increased substantially after a phenomenal 2021/22 season during which he scored 14 times in 34 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg.

 

Apparently, Arsenal have began to assess the credentials of the striker, who is also being watched by Premier League rivals Tottenham and West Ham. Okafor, who went to the World Cup with Switzerland, actually scored his first international goal for the Swiss national team on November 15 2021, in a qualifying game against Bulgaria, which secured automatic qualification for Qatar 2022.

 

Arsenal are hoping to sign him ahead of the summer when they plan to increase their attacking options as the club prepares for the Uefa Champions League. On December 8 2021, Okafor scored the only goal of the game as Salzburg defeated Sevilla in the final group stage match of the Champions League, allowing his club to become the first-ever Austrian side to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament.
