Burton Albion's Victor Adeboyejo named in English Football League Team of the Week

NIGERIAN-born striker Victor Adeboyejo was named in the English Football League Team of the Week following his sterling performances for Burton Albion over the weekend when he nagged a hat trick in their 3-2 league match victory.

Adeboyejo, 24, helped Burton come from being 1-2 down to secure a 3-2 victory over Forest Green Rovers at the Pirelli Stadium, moving off the foot of the table in the process. Adeboyejo was the hero for the Brewers, scoring all three goals, including a dramatic winner in the second minute of stoppage time.

Born in Ibadan, the former Arsenal youth team player opened the scoring in the sixth minute of the contest and then levelled proceedings to 2-2 with eight minutes remaining. Playing in a 3-4-3 formation, the Nigerian has been selected to play in an attack featuring three strikers, including Deeney and Evans.

Against Forest Green Rovers, Adeboyejo registered a game-high five shots with three on target. He also won three aerial duels, was accurate in 76.9% of his passes, completed one dribble and won one foul for his team.
