Leon Balogun signs one year deal with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers

SUPER Eagles defender Leon Balogun has completed a switch to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) on free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers.

Balogun, 34, left Glasgow in June at the end of his two year deal during which time he helped Gers win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup. He has since been looking for a club and has finally, got one in QPR where he reunites with former Rangers assistant coach Michael Beale.

Mr Beale said: “Leon Balogun was outstanding for Rangers, both on the pitch but also around the changing room. He is a personality leader who gives his teammates so much positivity and guidance on a daily basis."

Balogun has signed a one-year contract with the West Londoners who hope that his presence will provide stealth at the heart of their defence. However, Balogun needs to get match fit quick as he has not played a game since May and QPR desperately need to plug their leaky defence that has conceded seven goals in five games this season.
