Oyetola's wife's convoy attacked by armed hoodlums in Ede as she returns to Oshogbo

GOVERNOR Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State's wife has survived an attack by gunmen in the Ede area of the state when armed hoodlums opened fire on her motorcade as it drive back to the capital Oshogbo after a function.

 

In a scary development, the convoy of Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, was attacked by suspected hoodlums on Friday evening. Although information about the incident is sketchy, sources in Owode, Ede, where the incident occurred, it appears the convoy of Mrs Oyetola was heading to Osogbo when intermittent gunshots were heard around 8pm on Friday evening.

 

One local resident of the area, who preferred to be simply identified as Alayande, said: “I heard several gunshots where I stood near the junction. It was dark but there was altercation between security men and some people suspected to be hoodlums.”

 

Oluwatunmise Iluyomade, a spokeswoman for the office of the First Lady, conformed that the convoy was attacked. She said: “No life was lost in the incident  but some security personnel attached to the convoy sustained various degrees of injuries.”
