Huddersfield Town eye Nigerian midfielder David Kasumu as they seek return to the Premier League

ENGLISH Championship side Huddersfield Town are looking to sign Nigerian midfielder David Kasumu from League One side MK Dons ahead of the forthcoming 2022/23 season as they desperately seek promotion to the Premier League.

Kasumu, 22, joined the MK Dons' academy at a young age and came through the ranks, going on to progress through various age groups before moving into the club's development squad. On 26 December 2017, he signed a one-and-a-half year contract with the club which he later renewed in December 2019.

MK Dons have made a contract offer to Kasumu but nothing has been signed as of this week, meaning he is now a free agent. Huddersfield are looking to bolster their squad with the signing of a midfielder after missing out on promotion to the Premier League in last season's play-off final and Kasumu is seen as ideal.

Since breaking into the MK Dons team, Kasumu has made a total of 93 career appearances, scoring two goals. he made his senior debut for the club in a Carabao Cup fixture against Newport County in 2016 while still a schoolboy.
