Fulham plan to bring Super Eagles fullback Zaidu Sanusi to Craven Cottage this summer

NEWLY promoted English Premier League side Fulham are planning to offer Portuguese champions  €12m for the services of Super Eagles fullback Zaidu Sanusi in the hope of luring him to Craven Cottage during the summer transfer window.

Sanusi, 24, joined Porto on August 30, 2020, signing a five-year contract with the club and then going on to win the first trophy of his career in December that year then the beat Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final. He has gone on to become a revelation at the club and on May 7 this year, Sanusi scored the only goal to help Porto win its 30th league title.

During the course of last season, Sanusi scored three goals in 40 appearances in all competitions, attracting the attention of several clubs across Europe. Fulham have now joined the growing list of clubs requiring his services as they hope to hold on to their Premier League status following recent promotion.

Fulham manager Marco Silva, is looking to make an impression on the club's return to the English top-flight. Mr Silva, 44, is known to be a lover of attacking football and Sanusi, an overlapping fullback, could be a fine addition to his squad as it will offer width going forward.

However, getting Sanusi could be a tough task as Porto may not listen to any offer less than €20m for the Super Eagles defender. Sanusi has 10 international caps to his name as his good form has attracted the attention of the Nigerian Football Federation too.
