Asari Dokubo asks Wike to apologise for saying he was betrayed at PDP convention

NIGER Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has asked Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to apologise for his recent comment that he was betrayed during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primaries just held in Abuja.

In what effectively became a two-horse race, former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar scored 371 votes to Governor Wike's 237 votes. After the election, Governor Wike said he lost because he was betrayed by several southern governors who he said sold their people out without thinking of the consequences.

However, Mr Dokubo said Governor Wike should repent, make restitution and reconcile with all those he offended by his actions and utterances. Among other things, the Niger Delta militant leader stressed that Governor Wike lacked the moral right to complain about betrayal.

Mr Dokubo said: “I was livid with anger that Nyesom Wike will tell people that he was betrayed. Betrayed by who? The people you are abusing? The people you treated like rats?

“They should accept your aspiration so that when you reach Abuja as president, you will kill us? People don’t advise you. You have cows like Ishi Samuel Nwanosike, you made chairman, that has elevated you to the position of a god.

“If someone should be talking about betrayal, it should be the former PDP chairman, Uche Secondus. You kicked him out because of your political aspiration, now you are talking about betrayal.”
