Watford set to cash in on the sale of Emmanuel Dennis following the club's relegation

ENGLISH Premier League side Watford are set for a bumper cashing in on Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis following their relegation as big clubs have begun making bids for the forward who only cost £3.5n a year ago.

Dennis, 24, joined Watford at the beginning of the season from Belgian side Club Brugge and has been one of the revelations of the campaign, scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances. With Watford now relegated and due to play in the second tier of English football next season, big clubs are lining up for Dennis' signature.

In a season that has seen the player contribute half of Watford’s goals and become a standout player in the team, his performances have made him the fans' favourite. In 33 league games this season, Dennis has not only scored 10 goals but he has also provided six assists.

A relegation clause was signed when the player put pen to paper on his contract, so Dennis will not be moving with Watford to the Championship. Watford are however reducing their expectations as they have lowered Dennis’ valuation to £20m from an initial £40m.

Dennis is expected to command between £10m and 15m according to transfer experts and may also be eyeing a move away from the Premier League. Leeds United earlier signified interest but talks are on hold at the moment as the team is in a relegation battle.
