Nigerian Army weapons instructor commits suicide after found out to be a Boko Haram member

NIGERIAN Army weapons instructor Lance Corporal Jibrin Biu has committed suicide by shooting himself up after being arrested when he was found out to be a double agent who was operating as a Boko Haram terrorist.

Attached to the Nigerian Army 159 Battalion in Geidam, under the Nigerian Army 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari, Yobe State, Lance Corporal Biu suddenly disappeared for two days last week. This led to the launch of a search, with his commanding officer tracking the lance corporal's phone to Gashua in Yobe State.

Subsequently, a signal was sent to the Nigerian Army base in Gashua and dragnets were spread out for the soldier.  It was then found out that Lance Corporal Biu had left his duty post to join Boko Haram fighters who recently raided Geidam, a town in Yobe State on Sunday.

He was subsequently arrested at a checkpoint in a commercial bus travelling to Yobe on Tuesday morning. Following his arrest, Lance Corporal Biu then snatched a gun from a soldier who was transporting him to custody and shit himself dead.

Lance Corporal Biu was in the intelligence corps of the Nigerian Army before becoming a weapons instructor. He was believed to be paid by Boko Haram to teach its members how to use firearms.
