Kidnappers give family of abducted FCT monarch 24 hours to come up with N6m in cash

KIDNAPPERS who abducted the traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) His Royal Highness Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi have given his family 24 hours to come up a ransom payment.

Alhaji Shamidozhi was kidnapped about two weeks ago and immediately afterwards, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N20m. This ransom was later slashed to N6m following negotiations but the money still yet to be handed over, the kidnappers appear to be losing patience and have given the monarch's family an ultimatum.

One  source from the traditional ruler’s family said that the abductors called and threatened to kill Alhaji Shamidozhi if they failed to raise the N6m in the next 24 hours. He solicited the help of security agents in rescuing the paramount ruler.

“It was just today around 10am that they called and threatened to kill the chief if the family fails to bring N6m after 24 hours. The threat has thrown the entire family into confusion as we don’t know how to raise the N6m,” the source added.

During the attack, the kidnappers invaded Bukpe  in large numbers and abducted  the monarch after shooting sporadically into the air. During the raid, the chief imam of the Bukpe Community Central Mosque, Mallam Jibrin, a sibling of the monarch, was injured.
