Leicester City eye Nigeria-eligible PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke ahead of Europa tie

ENGLISH Premier League side Leicester City are interested in the services of Nigeria-eligible PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke ahead of a clash between the two sides today in the Europa Conference League quarterfinals.

Madueke, 20, is an England U-21 international who has been impressive since joining the Dutch giants from the Tottenham Academy in 2018. He has scored 14 goals in 30 games this season across all competitions and is impressing at the Phillips Stadium, attracting the attention of a lot of clubs.

With the Foxes hosting the Eredivisie campaigners today in the Europa Conference League quarterfinals, Leicester have ample opportunity to take another look at the winger. Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers, is also a huge fan of the winger and sang his praises ahead of their game today at the King Power Stadium.

Mr Rodgers said: “He came through the system over here but clearly felt he wanted to play first-team football and maybe there was that opportunity abroad. You’ve seen other young players do that, going into Germany and into Holland."

Madueke is yet to represent England or any country at the senior level but is eligible to represent Nigeria and the Three Lions. He was born in the UK to Nigerian parents, making him eligible to feature for the Super Eagles.
