Kaduna State suffers another security setback as bandits kidnap Customs officer and his son

NIGERIA'S ongoing security crisis took another turn for the worse yesterday when bandits invaded a housing estate at Kofar Gayan low-cost area in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna state kidnapping two people.

 

Of late, Nigeria has become very insecure die to a series of high profile terrorist attacks, banditry and kidnapping. Kaduna State in particular has become the epicentre of violence as not only was the airport there recently attack but a train bound for Abuja was bombed with at least six people killed.

 

Yesterday, the state suffered another attack, with bandits kidnapping customs officer Mu’awiya Gambo and his son Samaila Mu’awiya. Apparently, the bandits trailed Mr Gambo from his family house in Zaria city to his private  residence in Kofar Gayan low-cost area.

 

Apparently, the bandits forced their way into his house and abducted him and his son between 8.30pm and 9pm last night. Local resident Mallam Surajo Garba, said hoodlums also kidnapped four people on their way out of the area, although, the two of them escaped and returned to their homes.
