President Buhari should give Nato stringent conditions that have to be met if they want African support for their ongoing spat with Russia

Ayo Akinfe

First of all, Nato should agree to a meeting chaired by Nigeria involving Africa’s top 10 island states. This meeting will agree a continental tourist package which Nato must sign up to, guaranteeing at least 10m visitors a year:

[1] Madagascar
[2] Seychelles
[3] Cape Verde
[4] St Helena
[5] Sao Tome & Principe
[6] Comoros
[7] Mauritius
[8] Reunion
[9] Canary Island
[10] Madeira

This Africa-Nato Tourism Agreement will be straightforward. All participants need to do is agree that all payments will go into a pot which shall be split 11 ways each month.  It is from this pot that money for investment will come. Here is how the package will look:

[1] Tourists will be offered a 10-island holiday involving spending at least one night in each location
[2] Tourists who want localised holidays in just one part of Africa, will be free to opt for that
[3] Air Peace will be responsible for all flights and transportation
[4] Tourists will not need a visa for such holidays
[5] International hotel chains, hospitality companies and restaurant chains will be given 50 year land leases to expand into these islands
[6] Nigeria will float a dedicated cruise company to facilitate this island-hoping holiday for those interested in making the trip by sea
[7] Tourists who come on holidays for five successive years will be granted automatic citizenship allowing them to settle in any of these islands if they so please
[8] International companies who hold annual general meetings or staff get-togethers on any of these islands will get a 20% discount
[9] Ship captains who operate this cruise line that services the islands will be licensed to conduct weddings aboard their ships
[10] One division of the Nigerian Army will be located to each island to offer security
