English Premier League clubs could miss out on Chukwueze as Juventus moves in

SEVERAL English Premier League clubs may miss out on Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze as Italian giants AC Milan have become the latest side to express an interest in signing him during the summer transfer window.

Chukwueze, 22, has long been on the radar of English Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool, with the Anfield giants believed to have had a €35m offer rejected for the flying winger in January 2020. According to Italian media outlet Notizie Milan, come the end of the season, AC Milan mat be the ones signing him from his current Spanish club Villarreal.

Since 2015, Chukwueze has been eyed by all of Europe's big clubs following a memorable outing for Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup. Last season, injury stopped him from appearing in the Europa League final but he has gradually returned to his best form, scoring five goals and adding another two assists in 21 games across all competitions this campaign.

Last week, Chukwueze  was particularly impressive against Juventus in the Champions League as Villarreal held the Old Ladies to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their knockout tie. This is part of what may have prompted AC Milan to put in a bid for the winger and bring him to Serie A.

Reaching an agreement on a transfer fee could put the transfer in jeopardy, though, as Milan may not be willing to match Villarreal’s €25m valuation of the speedy winger. According to footballing website caughtoffside.com,  Manchester United, Liverpool, West Ham, Everton and Chelsea are among the clubs that have expressed an interest in signing Chukwueze.
