Tinubu hits back at critics questioning his health saying he is not applying for a bricklayers job

FORMER Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has hit back at all those questioning whether he  is physically fit to be president saying is not applying for a job in bricklaying or grave digging so does not need to be in peak physical shape.

A founding members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Tinubu has thrown his hat into the ring in the race to be the party's flagbearer in next year's presidential elections. However, there are serious doubts about Asiwaju Tinubu health and it is also feared that age is not on his side.

Officially, Asiwaju Tinubu is 69 years old but it is believed he is much older than that and is probably around 80. To make matters worse, Asiwaju Tinubu has suffered from ill health lately and is looking every frail, especially after returning from an operation abroad last year, which led to him spending months recuperating in London.

Hitting back at his critics, Asiwaju Tinubu said that he needs more psychological than physical strength to be president in 2023. He stated this yesterday during a visit to the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, when he went to inform him of his political ambition.

Asiwaju Tinubu said: “I am not applying for the job of bricklaying or grave digging. I went to school to study accountancy and management.

“I am applying for a thinking job and I will do it right. The job I want to do is for Nigeria to be greater and to be proud of itself.”

Oba Olanipekun replied that Asiwaju Tinubu has the capacity to be Nigeria’s president and prayed that God would grant his heart’s desires. With outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari coming from northern Nigeria, the next president is going to come from the south and the APC is looking to zone the position top the southern half of the country.
