Caf shifts the dates of Nigeria's two-legged World Cup play-off against Ghana's Black Stars

NIGERIA'S forthcoming two-legged World Cup play-off against Ghana has been moved forward  by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) with the Super Eagles now die to face the Black Stars on March 25 and 29 respectively.

 

In what is the last hurdle before Qatar 2022, the Super Eagles will face the Black Stars in a two-legged knock-out home and away tie. Originally, the two matches were scheduled for March 24 and March 27 but they have both been moved by Caf.

 

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) spokesman Ademola Olajire, said: “The opening leg of the fixture at the Cape Coast Stadium will now take place on March 25, starting from 7.30pm Ghana time, which will be 8.30 pm in Nigeria. The return leg match will now hold at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on March 29, starting from 6pm Nigeria time.”

 

As is the case with the four other African play-offs, the winners over the two legs will advance to the World Cup in Qatar taking place between November 21 and December 18. Apart from Nigeria vs Ghana, the other ties are Senegal/Egypt, Algeria/Cameroon, Morocco/DR Congo and Mali/Tunisia.
