Nigeria desperately needs a Civic Responsibility Bill in the run-up to 2023 because the citizens are just as much to blame as the politicians for the current plight of the nation

[1] Every Nigerian landlord shall install a solar panel on their property to help address the power crisis

[2] Nigerians should only hold parties abroad in exotic locations like Dubai and Seychelles if local facilities such as Obudu Cattle Ranch, Idanre Hills, Tinapa, etc are not available

[3] Every Christian and Muslim pilgrim should place a 10-year moratorium on themselves when it comes to going on religious pilgrimages. They should invest that money locally to build up our own tourist industry

[4] Anyone who notices their neighbour suddenly coming across inexplicable wealth should report the matter to the EFCC immediately. Failure to do so should make you an accessory

[5] Every Nigerian should reject food parcels and cash incentives offered to them by politicians

[6] Every member of the public should adopt a Buy Nigerian First policy when it comes to purchasing consumer goods. We should only opt for foreign goods when the quality of local ones is unacceptable. We do not always need top-of-the-range goods

[7] Every Nigerian must queue when in public as part of a culture to breed discipline

[8] Rather than spray money at parties, the wealthy should gather such cash and invest it in cooperative societies

[9] Every Nigerian must undertake never to discriminate against another citizen because they are from a different ethnic group or practice a different faith

[10] Citizens in every local government area should pool resources together to build at least one silo and warehouse to store their harvests, crops and food supplies
