Tinubu donates N50m to Niger State government as he steps up his quest for APC ticket

FORMER Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has stepped up his quest for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by donating N50m ($120,540) to the Niger State government.

Asiwaju Tinubu who governed Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, declared his candidacy earlier this month and has since begun campaigning in earnest. A founding member of the APC, Asiwaju Tinubu has always been known to hand out cash to party stalwarts and during the last elections in 2019, two bullion vans were seen driving into his compound.

Handing over the cash to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello at State House in Minna, Asiwaju Tinubu said the N50m was to help fight insecurity. Nigeria State is one of the most insecure states in the country today with Boko Haram terrorists, kidnappers, armed Fulani cattle herdsmen and bandits all running riot.

A Tinubu Support Group spokesman said: “Asiwaju in Minna, donates N50m to the state government to support security challenges faced by the state.”
