US Romeo Pizza chain opens expands into Nigerian market opening first outlet in Surulere

AMERICAN fast-food chain Romeo’s Pizza and Coldberry Ice cream has expanded into the Nigerian market with the opening of a store in Lagos as part of its ambitious global expansion plan.

Opening its first outlet in the Surulere area of Lagos with subsequent ones to unfold, Romeo’s Pizza is a franchise of the parent group based in Ohio in the US. Ifeanyi Onwubiko, the chairman of Irukka Online, the owners of the Nigerian franchise, said Romeo’s Pizza operates with the same standard worldwide

He added that what that means is that it is the same quality of pizza that Americans are enjoying that he has brought to Nigeria. Mr Onwubiko said that they have come to give Nigerians the real quality and taste of pizza, which is unlike anything that has been on the market up until now.

Mr Onwubiko stressed that they are emulating the parent brand in the US with regard to spread, adding that after they opened the outlet along Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere, close to the popular Shitta bridge, they would open another outlet at First Avenue junction, Festac Town. He mentioned that a third branch will then be  unveil at Admiralty Way in Lekki as part of the expansion programme.

“We have come with American quality and standard pizza and from today, Lagosians will begin to have a taste of real pizza,” Mr Onwubiko added.
