Tinubu expected to be away from Nigeria for a while as he recuperates in London

ALL Progressives Congress (APC) national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu may be out of Nigeria for longer as there are fears that he may have to undergo another operation for an undisclosed ailment with is currently being treated in London.

This tear, Asiwaju Tinubu has spent over 60 days receiving medical treatment abroad, visiting hospitals in France, the US and the UK, where he underwent several surgeries. On January 24, he returned to Nigeria after a month away but then went for a medical check-up on Thursday, June 10 in France.

Amidst death rumours, Asiwaju Tinubu was forced to return to Nigeria on Tuesday, June 15 but then he was flown out to Maryland in the US in July. On August 9, Asiwaju Tinubu was believed to have had another knee surgery at the John Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland and is currently in London recuperating.

One source close to the former Lagos State governor, said: “Tinubu had his second surgery at John Hopkins University in Maryland recently. He was accompanied by a popular Nigerian doctor in Chicago.

He had wanted the surgery in Paris but when rumour was rife about his death, he hurriedly left for Nigeria and went to John Hopkins. He then left the US for the UK on crutches."

Earlier this month, President Muhammadu Buhari paid Asiwaju Tinubu a visit in London where he was seen with a walking stick. Today, Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Kayode Fayemi of Ondo and Ekiti states paid him a visit too.
