Nigeria needs to get off her knees today and build on the ruins of Covid-19 as we cannot afford the tranquilising drug of gradualism

[1] Procrastination is the thief of time - Charles Dickens

[2] We cannot afford the tranquillising drug of gradualism - Martin Luther King

[3] I believe in the fierce urgency of now - Dr Martin Luther King

[4] Justice delayed is justice denied - William Ewart Gladstone

[5] Sometimes, you can miss out on great opportunities as a nation even if you do the right thing if you do it at the wrong time. A delay of a year can sometimes alter your entire destiny

[6] Do you know that Japan may have won World War Two as it was planning a biological attack on the US but it was beaten to it with the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

[7] Japan had begun working on Operation Cherry Blossoms at Night, a 1945 plan to wage biological warfare upon civilian population centres in southern California. The plan was drop a weaponised Bubonic plague on San Diego on September 22, 1945 but it was not realised because of the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1945

[8] Japan had already used this gruesome germ warfare on China in 1940. Using airdropped wheat, corn, scraps of cotton cloth and sand infested with plague infected fleas, an outbreak was started that resulted in a hundred deaths. A similar attack was planned in the US to be launched via submarines. Were Little Boy and Fat Man not dropped, the course of history might have been changed

[9] The moral of today’s lesson is that there is no such thing as “God’s time is the best.” As Barack Obama, said: “We are the people we have been waiting for.” The time to make a difference is here and now!

[10] All those of you praying for messiahs and waiting for “good leaders” will still be there praying for miracles when Fat Man and Little Boy are dropped on you. We should cash in on the opening offered by this global pandemic and get off our backsides and build from the ruins as Japan and Europe did after World War Two
