Ipob blacklists several anti-Kanu Igbo leaders saying they will be held responsible if he is harmed

INDIGENOUS leaders of Biafra (Ipob) leaders have drawn up a blacklist of Igbo leaders who they claim played a satanic role in the arrest of its embattled leader Nnamdi Kanu promising that they will be held accountable of anything happens to him.

Highly controversial, Mr Kanu has been campaigning for the recreation of the independent republic of Biafra which broke away from Nigeria between July 1967 and January 1970 during the civil war. His campaign, which has led to the phenomenal growth of Ipob, has set him at odds with the Nigerian government who him arrested and put on trial for treason.

While the case was still pending, Mr Kanu was granted bail in April 2017 on health grounds but skipped his bail after flouting the conditions given to him by the court and fled Nigeria. Late last month, Kanu was arrested during a recent visit to Kenya and was then and handed over to the Nigerian authorities who then flew him into the country.

Incensed by the fact that several prominent Igbos were opposed to Mr Kanu, Ipob said the likes of Nigeria's labour minister Chris Ngige, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State and businessman Emeka Offor, would be made to pay for their satanic role in the crisis. Ipob spokesman Emma Powerful, said the group would hold those named above accountable if anything happens to Mr Kanu.

Mr Powerful alleged that Mr Offor claimed he was ready to spend N250m ($610,000) to counter Radio Biafra. Condemning this, he then urged those close to imminent Igbo leaders to compel them to push for Mr Kanu’s release.

“We also uncovered how Emeka Offor told some people that he was ready to provide N250m to open another Radio Biafra to counter our leader’s broadcasts on the official Radio Biafra. Should anything happen to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the fate of Judas will be more honourable than what will befall these traitors.

“Anybody close to these saboteurs should advise them to quickly go for the release of our leader the way they trapped him into the net of the wicked Nigeria government. We want to place it on record that these traitors- Nyesom Wike, Obiano, Emeka Offor, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige and their collaborators are to be held accountable to whatever happens to Nnamdi Kanu and they shall surely pay for their satanic role in the abduction and rendition of our leader,” Mr Powerful added.

Ipob claimed that these Igbo leaders allegedly conspired and betrayed Kanu. Mr Powerful claimed that those people betrayed Mr Kanu for their own selfish interests.
