Etebo undergoes medical at Watford ahead of life in the Premier League next season

SUPER Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has undergone a medical with newly-promoted English Premier League side Watford ahead of a switch that will see him play for the Hornets during the 2021/22 season.

Etebo, 25, spent last season on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions. One source close to the player pointed out that the midfielder will sign a permanent deal with the Hornets shortly.

He added: “It is true he has gone through his routine medicals at Watford but let’s wait for more official details about the deal and that will be soon. It’s not a loan move.”

Should the deal be completed over the coming days, Etebo will become the fifth Nigerian at the club after William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Emmanuel Dennis. Etebo, who has 38 senior Nigerian caps, is currently valued at €3.2m by Transfermarkt.
