Marcelo Bielsa plans bringing Kelechi Nwakali to Leeds as he builds title-chasing team

ENGLISH Premier League's most entertaining team Leeds United have opened discussions with Spanish side Huesca about bringing former Golden Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali to Elland Road as part of manager Marcelo Bielsa's plans to win the title next year.

By far the most exhilarating and excitable team to watch in England, Leeds finished in 2020/21 season in ninth place, just missing out on Europe. Leeds' manager Marcelo Bielsa is widely regarded as the best coach in England as his high octane explosive brand of football is a delight to watch and attracts neutrals.

Leeds already has several top notch players in its ranks like England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, Brazilian Raphinia and Spanish centreback Diego Llorente. However, Mr Bielsa is begun strengthening his squad with the view to making it a title challenger next season and the creative Nwakali is seen as  a vital piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

Nwakali, 23, is one of the most talented Nigerian footballers ever seen, which was acknowledged in 2015 when he won the golden ball at the Fifa U17 World Cup. Adjudged to be the best player in the tournament to which he captained Nigeria to victory, Nwakali was immediately signed by Arsenal who subsequently loaned him out to several clubs.

Arsenal had hoped that by now, Nwakali would not only have developed into a top class player but would have also secured enough Nigerian caps to enable him play in the English Premier League. However, Nwakali's career just refused to kick off and his refusal to get playing time forced Arsenal to sell him to Huesca in September 2019, in a three-year deal.

Despite joining Huesca, Nwakali's woes continued as he saw limited action in La Liga forcing the club to loan him to second division side Alcorcón for last season. At Alcorcon, Nwakali enjoyed a mega revival scoring four goals in 23 games and his new-found form has attracted suitors.

Bielsa is known for getting the best out of players and Nwakali signing for Leeds is seen by many commentators as just what he needs at this point in his career. His only problem will be getting around England's work permit laws.
