Qatar Airways introduces two daily flights to Lagos as its African expansion plan continues

QATAR Airways is expanding its presence in the Nigerian market by introducing two daily flights to Lagos from the Middle East as part of a wider expansion plan aimed at enhancing its market share across Africa.

As from July 1, Qatar Airways will begin operating the new schedule backed by state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft featuring 22 business class seats and economy class 232 seats. Flights will be between the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos and the Hamad International Airport in Doha, the Qatari capital.

With the addition of Abidjan to its number of destinations on June 16, Qatar Airways now operates over 100 weekly flights to 27 destinations in Africa. Qatar Airways already operates three weekly flights from Abuja, connecting more passengers from Nigeria to its rapidly expanding network to now more than 140 destinations.

“After just under a year of resuming flights to Lagos and launching to Abuja, following the challenges imposed by the pandemic, it is a testament to the resilience of the African region that we have now increased our frequency to Lagos. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board to enjoy our world-class hospitality and service.”
