Buhari hits out at ambitious political hawks asking them to back acting president Osinbajo

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has lashed out at the political hawks jostling for his job asking them to forget about their ambitions and throw their weight behind acting president Professor Yemi Osinbajo who is currently running the country.


On May 7, President Buhari returned to the UK for medical treatment handing over the reins of power to his deputy but as soon as he left, the jostling for the presidency begun by many who hoped that he would not return. Earlier today, President Buhari's wife Hadjia Aisha Buhari returned from a visit to her husband with a message from him that such politicians should put their ambitious to one said for now.


Hadjia Buhari said: "Mr President thanked the acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo for his loyalty and called on Nigerians to continue to support the acting president in his effort to actualise the mandate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) . He is soliciting for your continuous cooperation and support for the acting president towards achieving the mandate of this administration as contained in our APC manifesto, so that we can build a very strong institution for a better future of our country Nigeria.


“I thank Allah for my safe trip to UK, where I visited President Muhammadu Buhari. He thanks Nigerians for their constant prayers for his health and steadfastness in the face of challenges."


This morning, Hadjia Buhari landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in company of her aides and family members. She conveyed the appreciation of President Buhari to Nigerians over their constant prayers and said he would soon return to the country as he is recuperating fine.
