Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association threatens to avenge the death of 50 herdsmen in Anambra

FULANI herdsmen body the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association (Macban) has vowed to avenge the recent killing of its members in Anambra State claiming that 50 pastoralists were murdered in cold blood by the Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob).

According to Saleh Alhassan, the Macban national secretary, Ipob was responsible for the killings and he vowed that its leader Nnamdi Kanu and his members will pay dearly for the mindless massacre. Mr Alhassan added that Nigeria's Igbos have failed to remember that they were saved in the north during the civil war.

Mr Alhassan said: “So far, more than 50 herders have been killed in the southeast in the last one month. We have the record and the Igbo terrorists led by Nnamdi Kanu will pay for everybody they killed.

“It is unfortunate that they have forgotten history, how we saved a lot of Igbos in the north during the civil war but now they are killing our people. These people are making a grievous mistake and we will take the necessary steps both legal and cultural to avenge the killings of our members.”

He further demanded the government to deal with the destructive elements in southeast and applauded Nigeria's security agencies for killing a leading member of the Eastern Security network known as Commander Ikonso. Last week, Commander Ikonso was killed by military operatives during a joint operation in Imo State on Saturday April 24.

In a swift response to Mr Alhassan's threat, Mr Kanu warned that Ipob would go after every killer Fulani herdsmen terrorist in the southeast. He added that the implementation of Mr Alhassan's  threat would be the last of herdsmen in the southeast.

Mr Kanu said: “Miyetti Allah, hear this, Ipob is not the South East Governors Forum that you can threaten and get away with. We are the same Ipob that collapsed the zoo and we are after every killer herdsman.

"We are after you Fulani terrorists and murderers masquerading as herdsmen. If you implement this your threat, it shall be your last, as we no longer believe in turning the other cheek. It is now blood for blood and you will lose.”
