Were Nigerians people who genuinely cared about their communities, here are 10 questions they would put to every gubernatorial aspirant who appears before them

(1) How much internal generated revenue (IGR) do you promise to raise annually after a year in office 
(2) How big will class sizes be under your tenure. Please provide us with figures for both primary and secondary school 
(3) How soon can you promise us 100% literacy levels in this state and what percentage of your annual budget will go on education 
(4) How many housing and units do you promise to build a year 
(5) What percentage of rural roads can you guarantee will be paved after your first four years in office 
(6) How many hospital beds will there be in the state after your first four years in office 
(7) Can you guarantee that all civil servants will be paid by the 25th of every month
(8) What income-generating projects can you guarantee will be up and running in the state within four years 
(9) What is your annual foreign direct investment target and how many jobs can you promise to create a year 
(10) How soon do you think it will be before our state no longer needs to be part of the parasitic federal allocation regime accepting handouts from Abuja 

When we start electing governors who are signed up to manifestos like this, we will start to see progress as a nation. It is governors who impact daily lives with the provision of services like roads, housing, education, healthcare, etc.

As things stand, our governors are not committed to any projects so to be honest are not under any obligation to deliver. They were not elected with a mandate to create wealth so will not do it.

When you go and take stomach infrastructure from a politician rather than ask him for a manifesto, you are part of the problem. Your crime is as great as the embezzler as far as I am concerned
