Trump blames Giuliani for his impeachment and refuses to pay him his agreed legal fees

PRESIDENT Donald Trump has resorted to blaming his lawyer Rudi Giuliani for his impeachment by the US House of Representatives yesterday saying that the former mayor of New York did not defend him rigorously enough.

Yesterday, President Trump became the first ever US president to be impeached twice after the House of Representatives voted to remove him from office today in a historic development that saw 10 members of his Republican Party break ranks and vote with the Democrats. After an extensive three hour plenary session, 232 members of the House voted to impeach the president, with 197 members voting to support President Trump.

Incensed with the development, President Trump has reportedly refused to pay Mayor Giuliani has legal fees. Aides to the president who have been told not to make any more payments as said to be unclear if President Trump is serious about his instructions given how he has been lashing out at nearly everyone after the impeachment.

One White House adviser said: “Everybody’s angry at everyone inside the White House, with the president being upset because he thinks people are not defending him enough. He’s currently in self-pity mode.

“His actions led to here, no one else. He instigated a mob to charge on the Capitol building to stop the certification, so he’s not going to find a lot of sympathetic Republicans.”

Under pressure from his aides and his party, President Trump published a five more video yesterday in which he said he did not support acts of violence. Accepting that there will be a handover on January 20, he added that those involved in storming the Capitol Hill building will be made to answer for their crimes.
