If Biden wins here are a set of demands I expect Buhari to present him with

(1) Nigeria is willing to offer the US observer status at the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas). This is to facilitate massive US investment in West Africa

(2) Nigeria is offering free land and five year tax holidays to the big three US automobile manufacturers General Motors, Chrysler and Ford. We want each of them to open assembly and manufacturing plants in Nigeria employing at least 5,000 local people each

(3) Any US company that invests in a manufacturing facility in Nigeria employing at least 1,000 people will get a one year tax holiday

(4) Any state in Northern Nigeria where the US builds a manufacturing facility employing at least a thousand local people will be compelled by law to rescind its Sharia laws

(5) The US should set itself an annual target of investing 5bn a year in Nigeria. In return, Nigeria will introduce a Buy America First import policy for finished products

(6) The US shipping industry will open at least one shipyard in the Niger Delta to manufacture vessels for global distribution. Nigeria will offer them a 99 year lease to do this

(7) The US will open a military academy in Nigeria to help train our armed forces in counter-terrorism

(8) On an annual basis, the US industry will take in 500,000 Nigerian graduates to train them up to international standards

(9) US corporations pulling out of China will consider Nigeria as a first choice alternative destination

(10) US power and steel companies will be given unprecedented sweeteners when then invest in Nigeria. If they invest over $10m and employ in excess of 1,000 Nigerians, they will be offered five year tax holidays, 99 year land leases, diplomatic status for their staff and the right to acquire Nigerian citizenship
