Yanga TV to broadcast Super Eagles game against Tunisia live in Sky Channel 186

NIGERIAN football fans in the UK will be able to watch tonight's Super Eagles friendly game against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Sky TV after television house Yanga TV secured the rights to broadcast the match live.

Tonight, the Super Eagles will face the Carthage Eagles in Austria in their second friendly game over the last week after they played Algeria on Friday. Yanga TV, available on Sky Channel 186, Freesat 171 and Freeview 264, will be showing the match as from 7pm as part of a plan to extend its package to cover sports.

One of the leading African television stations in Europe, Yanga TV is owned by Africa Media Works a private UK-registered limited company. Its name means self-pride and showing-off in West African pidgin and the station has as its main focus current affairs, politics and entertainment.

Lindsey Oliver the managing director of Africa Media Works, said: "We are happy to announce that we are showing the Tunisia game live. We are working on putting together a comprehensive package with the Nigerian Football Federation to enable us show all of the Super Eagles' games but are still looking for a sponsor to fund it, so hopefully this is just a taster.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has urged his players to step up their game against Tunisia at the Jacques Lemans Arena after a lackadaisical performance against Algeria last week. He will use a largely experimental side,. however, as the team is without regulars Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Francis Uzoho and Victor Osimhen and the likes of William Ekong and Samuel Kalu who played against Algeria have returned to their clubs.

Mr Rohr added: "We definitely must put up a greater effort against the Tunisians as it is an opportunity for some of the players to rise up to the occasion and stake a claim. They are ready to go and I believe we would see a much better game."
