Two Tunisians ruled out of tomorrow's friendly with Nigeria after they tested positive for Covid-19

TUNISIAN players Ferjani Sassi and Saifeddine Khaoui have tested positive for coronavirus ruling them out of the Carthage Eagles' clash with the Super Eagles tomorrow when the two teams meet at the Jacques Lemans Arena  in Austria.

As part of the ongoing series of international friendlies, Nigeria and Tunisia will lock horns tomorrow to prepare for the forthcoming World Cup and African Cup of nations qualifiers. Last week, Nigeria lost 0-1 to Algeria in a friendly that took place in Austria, while Tunisia defeated Sudan 3-0ay home in Rades.

Tomorrow, both teams will meet as part of the ongoing series of friendly matches taking place during the current Fifa international break. With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting proceedings, all players are being subjected to a test and with the two players testing positive, they will not be available for selection tomorrow.

Both Sassi and Khaoui featured in the 3-0 win over Sudan in Tunis. Khaoui scored the opener, before Ali Maaloul and Ben Slimane completed the rout at half time, while Sassi was an unused substitute.

Later today, the Super Eagles players are also expected to undergo Covid-19 tests and anyone who tests positive will be dropped. Already, a combination of injuries and Covid-19 has depleted the Nigerian squad with Victor Osimhen, Joe Aribo, Wilfred Ndidi and Ogene Etebo all absent from camp.
