Jordan Aina hopeful of kick-starting his English Premier League career with Fulham

NIGERIAN fullback Jordan Aina is hopeful of signing a contract with newly-promoted English Premier League side Fulham ahead of the forthcoming 2020/21 season after his contract with Chelsea expired.

Aina, 18, is the younger brother of Super Eagles fullback Ola and joined Chelsea as a kid, starting out with the club's U9 team before going no to make 14 appearances in the U18 Premier League. However, his contract with Chelsea expired at the end of the 2019/20 season and he signed a  rolling one-month extension with The Blues in July 2020.

In search of a permanent home, Jordan has begun training with Fulham with a view to a possible transfer. On Saturday, Jordan was named in the starting line-up as the Fulham U23 team thrashed their Reading counterparts 5-0 at Bearwood Park in their first friendly pre-season game which was split into three thirty-minute periods.

A former England U16 international, Aina tried his luck with Swansea City in February after he was told he was not going to get a new deal at Stamford Bridge but he did not sign for the Championship side. Jordan, a leftback, was given his full European debut in November last year, when Chelsea's U19s manager Andrew Myers fielded him in a game against Lille at the club's Cobham Training Centre.
