I would have loved to have heard some post-coronavirus production plans in President Buhari’s address kind of similar to the hints Boris Johnson dropped when he spoke

For me this is a very straightforward matter. Nigeria accounts for 2.5% of the world’s population, so should account for 2.5% of global industrial output. I would have loved it if President Buhari had given a solemn pledge that in the post-coronavirus era, Nigeria will account for at least 2.5% of global production of the following 10 items:

(1) Electric automobiles
(2) Shipping vessels
(3) Medical doctors
(4) Pharmaceutical drugs
(5) Aircrafts and helicopters
(6) Military hardware
(7) Household consumer goods like TV sets, washing machines, fridge-freezers, toasters, tumble dryers, irons, cookers, microwaves, etc
(8) Mobile phones, laptop computers and iPads
(9) Agricultural output
(10) Clothing and footwear
