Jose Mourinho looks to bring QPR's Ebere Eze to Spurs over the summer in a £20m deal

TOTTENHAM Hotspurs manager Jose Mourinho is reported to be considering a £20m bid for Anglo-Nigeria midfielder Ebere Eze in the hope that he can prize him away from Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in the summer.

A talented playmaker, said to be the nearest thing to Austin JJ Okocha, Ebere, 21 has had a brilliant season with QPR, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists. Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino had been looking to take Ebere to Tottenham but the deal could not be sealed before he was sacked.

With Mourinho now in charge and looking to strengthen his team ahead of next season, Ebere is once more in the club's sights. Other English Premier League side including Sheffield United and Crystal Palace were apparently interested in signing Ebere during the January transfer window  but pulled due to the amount needed to sign him.

Ebere signed a new contract with QPR in 2018 to keep him at Loftus Road until the summer of 2021. Currently an England youth international, Ebere is in the sights is Nigerian manager Gernot Rohr and a tug of war is likely to develop for his services at senior level.

Nigerian Football Federation chairman Amaju Pinnick has visited Ebere and his parents in London with a view to getting him to switch his allegiance to Nigeria. As Ebere has featured for England at youth level, he will need to go through an official change with world governing body Fifa before he can feature for Nigeria.
