New Super Eagles invitee Cyriel Dessers could be on his way to England as Premier League clubs eye him

NEW Super Eagles invitee Cyriel Dessers could be on his way to England next season as his recent scintillating form that brought him to the attention of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has also caught the eye of several Premier league clubsides.

Striker Dessers, 25, who plies his trade with Heracles in the Dutch league has been sensational this season, scoring 15 goals in 26 games. With him being the leading goal scorer in the Dutch league, his form has earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles for the forthcoming double-headed African Nations Cup qualifiers against Sierra Leone later this month.

However, the tall and rangy targetman may be set to leave Holland too soon as former Stoke City manager Johan Boskamp has revealed that Dessers is attracting interest from English and German clubs ahead of the reopening of the transfer window. Currently valued at €3m by transfer market experts, Mr Boskamp has predicted that Dessers will be worth more than that figure once he makes his international debut for the Super Eagles.

He added: "Dessers is someone who shoots them in. Once he is international, his market value increases again and you can only benefit from it.

"It seems that German and English clubs are already after him. Great for that guy because he was actually already written off here."

Dessers has been playing in the Netherlands since the summer of 2016 after transferring from Dutch side Lokeren. He recently said he is very excited about the prospect of playing for Nigeria and is looking forward to making his debut.
