Inter Milan hand Victor Moses his traditional number 11 shirt after he passes medical

FORMER Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has been handed the number 11 shirt at Italian giants Inter Milan after successfully completing his switch to the club following the completion of a medical.

Moses, 29, has joined Inter on loan until the end of the season when the club will have the option of making the switch permanent if he impresses. Currently a Chelsea player, Moses was loaned out to Turkish side Fernebahce last January but has been missing in action recently after a spate of injuries.

Inter manager Antonio Conte, coached Moses when they were both together at Chelsea and is hoping to use him as a right wingback, playing on a 3-5-2 formation. A fee of €10m (£8.5m) has been mooted as the figure which Inter will have to pay if they wish to acquire the player on a permanent basis in June.

Moses said: "It’s an honour for me to be here and be an Inter player. I’d like to thank everyone for the welcome I’ve been given and I can’t wait to start.

"Having the opportunity to work with the coach again is something I’m really happy about, as I’ve spoken with him and he’s already explained the club’s project to me. I’ll give my all and want to help the team as I want to make my contribution out on the pitch and enjoy myself."

He becomes the eighth Nigerian player to be signed by Inter Milan, following in the footsteps of  Joel Obi, Nwankwo Obiora, Taribo West, Nwankwo Kanu, Obafemi Martins, Isah Eliakwu and Victor Obinna. After the 2018 World Cup, Moses retired from international football, saying he wanted to concentrate on his club career.
