Innovators Bayo Dada and Kelechi Anyikude launch app that allows fans to communicate with their heroes

NIGERIAN digital innovators Bayo Dada and Kelechi Anyikude have launched a new video request platform known as Fanbies that enables entertainment fans to get closer to their heroes via the Internet.

Unveiled at the Power Connections Hall in Leeds, the new application can be accessed though Google Play and App Store for free. Its launch earlier this month, attracted stakeholders in the digital technology, arts and entertainment industries and community leaders.

Mr Anyikude said: "Fanbies is another solution towards helping fans get closer to their favourite influencers and providing influencers new ways of earning extra revenue from the tens of thousands of their social media followers gathered over the years. We were influenced by the passion to create the most memorable and authentic fan experience for the average person.

"Fanbies allow you to make friend requests, offer birthday gifts, request personal tips and get inspirational quotes from professionals and influencers. You can watch, download, share and keep the videos forever."

At the launch of the app, speakers commended the founders of Fanbies for the initiative, saying it proves how innovative the youth can be. It is expected that Fanbies will be widely used by the Nigerian diaspora in the UK to communicate with celebrities in Nigeria like musicians and Nollywood stars.
