Buhari poised to leave London for Abuja tonight and resume duties tomorrow morning

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari is heading back to Abuja tonight to resume duties after spending nearly three months in the UK having been resident in London since May 7 when he left Nigeria on a medical vacation.

In what has been a challenging year for President Buhari, he has been in the UK recovering from an undisclosed illness for most of this year.  Over recent weeks, however, there has been a flurry of activity around him, with presidency sources saying he has recovered.

Two sets of state governors visited the president in different entourages this month and they have reported that he is well and will return to Nigeria very shortly. Following the most recent visit last week, it was reported that his minders wanted him to regain his physical strength and weight so that he does appear emaciated when he resumes office at the presidency.

Now, according to presidency sources, President Buhari is leaving Abuja House in London tonight and flying back Nigeria to arrive in the morning.  According to the president's aides,  he is fully mentally alert and all the talk about him being on a life support machine were exaggerated.
