Atiku pleads with Aisha to name the two people who have hijacked her husband's government

PEOPLES Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari's wife to name the two powerful people in her husband's administration that have taken over the running of the government.

Earlier this month, the president's wife, Hadjia Aisha Buhari had lashed out at two or three people who had hijacked her husband's government and arrogated too much power to themselves. She added that these were not the people elected to govern and were not even there when her husband was campaigning.

Latching on to what is now a major political discussion, Alhaji Abubakar, the former vice president, who will stand against President Buhari in next February's elections, said the identity of these two shadowy characters should be revealed. He added that Hadjia Buhari should identify the powerful people so Nigerians can either beg them or fight to liberate the president and the country from them.

Speaking through his campaign’s spokesperson, Segun Showunmi, Alhaji Abubakar claimed that President Buhari does not know how to fight corruption, even though he was determination to do it. Mr Showunmi said Alhaji Abubakar had the capacity to fight corruption in a sustainable manner more than the president.

He added: “I want to beg Her Excellency, Dr Aisha Buhari, to shatter the glass ceiling and mention those two people that have hijacked our president so that we can either go to beg them or we fight them and liberate the president of Nigeria from their stranglehold. Maybe in the remaining couple of months that he has, he will be able to be the Buhari that people wanted him to be.

“We want to know them so that we can write their names in the black book of history that they were the ones that destroyed the Buhari presidency.”
