Biafra Zionists Federation says shutting of US Abuja mission is a vote of no confidence in Buhari

SECESSIONIST group Biafra Zionists Federation (BZF) has declared that the recent decision by the US government to close its Abuja mission is a vote of no confidence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Earlier this week, the US State Department decided without any explanation to shut its Abuja mission and direct everyone requiring visas to use its Lagos office. Speaking in Enugu yesterday, BZF president Benjamin Onwuka, said the action showed that the US was tired of the Buhari government and was now backing his pro-Biafra movement.

Mr Onwuka said: “Nigeria is beginning to feel the repercussion of what Buhari has done to the country. Yesterday, the US announced the closure of its consulate without reason, there is a reason for it and we are aware of it but it is a red card for Buhari and freedom for Biafra.

“We know what is going on behind the scene and it is all over for Buhari and his Nigeria, as what we have been doing is now yielding results. We have always said it that the US is backing our Biafra struggle, backing our stand that Biafra should be independent and Israel is also totally behind what we are doing."

According to Mr Onwuka, there is no group of people that has been massacred like the Biafran people, pointing to the detention and harassment of politicians from their region as part of the campaign. He added that they will come out en mass on August 20 to protest the injustices meted out against the Biafran people.

He added: "That is why everybody must come out on August 20 in Enugu, don’t be afraid. There will be no shooting, harassment or intimidation, we are going with a stick and a carrot.”

He called on the Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi not to interfere in what they were doing, stressing that he is their brother. Mr Onwuka also reminded the All Progressives Congress chairman Adams Oshiomhole that there will be a price to pay for the militant power he is exercising now against his own Biafra people.
