Wilfred Ndidi reveals he has no plans to leave Leicester as he feels good at the Power King Stadium

SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed that he has no plans to leave Leicester City this summer despite reports linking him with several top English Premier League clubs interested in securing his services.

Ndidi, 21, was one of the revelations of the Premiership last season, winning more tackles than any other player during the campaign. He then capped off a fine season with a good World Cup that saw him play alongside Mikel obi and Oghene Etebo in Nigeria's midfield, holding their own against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.

Even before the World Cup, several top clubs had been linked with Ndidi, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said to be a keen admirer of the player. Since Ndidi joined the former Premier League champions Leicester from Genk for £17m in January 2017, he has gone on to make over 60 appearances for the Foxes.

Yesterday, however, Ndidi said: "A transfer has never been on my mind. I feel very good at Leicester.”

Before the end of last season, Spanish giants Barcelona were said to be amo9ng those interested in the anchorman who regarded as the best tackler in England and the second best in Europe with a massive 126 tackles in the league, averaging 4.2 per game. By statistics, he is currently the best ball-winning midfielder  in Europe.

Analysts believe Ndidi might just be the midfielder required to do the dirty job for the La Liga champions Barcelona with Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Paulinho all in their 30s. Ndidi also knows how to play with the ball, with an average 75% pass accuracy per game, something that suits the Barcelona pattern perfectly.
