President Tinubu should launch a Tripartite African Forum involving Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt that will pursue an aggressive African foreign policy which looks something like this

Ayo Akinfe

[1] We will immediately recognise the Arab Republic of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital and call for the immediate withdrawal of all occupying Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza Strip

[2] We call on Ukraine to withdraw its membership application to join Nato and enter into a dialogue with its neighbour Russia on security. Their way has led to a spike in global grain and meat prices which have hit African countries hard

[3] We find it unacceptable that 16 of Africa’s 55 nations are landlocked. We shall begin a policy of phasing out landlocked nations across Africa with a series of negotiated mergers and amalgamations

[4] With 16 of the world’s 42 landlocked nations being in Africa, we will aggressively combat this by moving towards a continent made up of about 12 economic giants that are genuine competitors on the world stage and who can match say the Chinese, Americans and European Union in terms of productivity, inventions, sports, academics, military might and creativity

[5] Most of Africa’s tiny and hapless mini states that we have at the moment will forever remain under-developed as many of them are not sustainable or viable. They are in no position to reject US, Chinese or EU imposition of trading restrictions or say no to being made dumping grounds. By 2050, we hope to phase out such states

[6] We will ensure that Africa has at least three super powers with populations of at least 500m, gross domestic products of $20trn and an annual budget of about $5trn

[7] These regional super powers will each have a military made up of 10m standing troops and would also have a nuclear capability. The idea is that they can intervene in global conflicts when need be

[8] To the end this global practice of the rest of the world feeding off our carcas, our African super will each ultimately have 50 aircraft carriers, 5,000 fighter jets, 200 submarines, 20,000 battle tanks, 100 navy Destroyers and a military helicopter fleet of 1,500

[9] As a continent, Africa must account for 50% of all global food production, 50% of all global steel production and about 80% of the world’s tropical disease hospitals and research centres. Africa must also account for the production of 50% of the world’s pharmaceuticals

[10] In the sporting arena, Africa must reign supreme, always topping the Olympics table and winning one out of every two Fifa World Cups. At the moment, we are just competing to make up the numbers
