Man United and Spurs step up their quests for Tosin Adarabioyo as transfer window looms

NIGERIA-eligible centreback Tosin Adarabioyo is currently being sought by English Premier League giants Manchester United And Tottenham Hotspurs who are both hoping to sign him up during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Adarabioyo, 26, has caught the attention of both clubs, following his exploits in the English Premier League with Fulham. Suitors from Italy and England have all expressed their interest in the talented former Manchester City prodigy but they may all have a fight on their hands as the centreback is highly valued by his current club who will be demanding a king's ransom before letting him go.

Fulham is believed to have received offers  from French Le Championet sides Monaco and Rennes over the last year, while Italian giants AC Milan, are said to also been keen on signing the defender. Adarabioyo, born in England to Nigerian parents, is the subject of intense transfer speculation as his contract with Fulham is set to expire at the end of the season.

Both Manchester United and Tottenham are facing defensive challenges, with injuries plaguing their backlines, making the pursuit of Adarabioyo a priority for the upcoming season. AC Milan, impressed by Adarabioyo’s stellar performances under the guidance of manager Marco Silva at Fulham, has also joined the race for his signature.

Having joined Fulham in 2020 from Manchester City, Adarabioyo has established himself as a dependable presence in the team’s defence, following successful loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers. With Adarabioyo set to become a free agent, Manchester United, the club where he grew up watching games as a young fan, are endeavouring to persuade him to sign a pre-contract agreement with them.

In Fulham’s recent victory over West Ham United this weekend, Adarabioyo formed a formidable partnership with Nigerian compatriot Calvin Bassey, playing a crucial role in their 2-0 triumph over the Hammers. Adarabioyo has been sought after by the Nigerian Football Federation in the past, who want him to undergo a Fifa switch, so he can play for the Super Eagles.
