Scottish giants Celtic offer trials to Nigerian teenager described as the new Lionel Messi

SCOTTISH giants Celtic have offered Nigerian American-born teenage sensation Mezi Ikemba an opportunity to participate in trials in the hope of signing a professional contract with the club ahead of next season.

Not yet eligible to sign a professional contract, Ikemba, still only 15, is currently playing for San Antonio in the Elite Clubs National League in Texas, USA. However, he has caught the attention of Celtic’s scouting network with his impressive performances and has been offered an opportunity to travel to the Scottish Premiership champions for trials.

Ikemba said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to have received this incredible opportunity from Celtic. It has been my lifelong dream to play for a club that has such a rich history and passionate fan base. I am determined to make the most of this trial and showcase my talent to the best of my abilities.”

Already standing at six feet one inch tall, Ikemba is described as having exceptional goal-scoring abilities and technical finesse setting him apart from his peers. Apparently, the trials that lie ahead promise to be a crucial turning point in Ikemba’s career, as the prodigious youngster aims to conquer new frontiers and etch his name into Celtic's storied history.

If Ikemba is successful at the trials, Celtic will put him on a scholarship scheme until he becomes 16, after which he can then sign a professional contract. Ikemba, who has been likened to Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi, is a forward said to make mesmerising runs and who scored brilliant goals.
