NIGERIA Immigration Service (Nis) officials have recovered no fewer than 700 voter cards from foreigners living in the country during a clampdown on illegally registered voters in the run-up to next year's elections.

Father of woman murdered by her boyfriend insists he must marry her corpse in line with tradition

WILFRED Nwovueze the father of the young woman recently murdered by her fiancé is Rivers State has insisted that her boyfriend must marry her corpse in line with the local cultural tradition.

 

Earlier this week, Prince Owabie, also known as J-Boy, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his pregnant girlfriend Betty Nwovueze. Police found where he buried her body and exhumed it in Rumuepirikom, in Obio-Akpor Local Government area of Rivers State before taking it to the hospital morgue.

Kano driver sentenced to seven months in jail for stealing Brazilian hair from Abuja trader

KANO driver Shedrack Paul has been sentenced to seven months in prison by an Abuja magistrates court for stealing several Brazilian hair wigs valued at a total of N96,500 after he pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal breach of trust and cheating.

 

Mr Paul, 29, was also ordered to pay N96,500 to the complainant, Imeh Edet, of  Durum II, Abuja. However, the magistrate, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, however, gave the convict an option of paying a N8, 000 fine rather than going to jail.
