Arokodare may remain at Wolves as club reject latest offer from Italian side Fiorentina

SUPER Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare could end up spending the forthcoming at Wolverhampton Wanderers after the club rejected a bid from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina regarding the offer as insignificant.

Arokodare, 25, was a £23m summer signing from Belgian side Genk last summer but with Wolves relegated at the end of the season, the club is now forced to sell many of its players. In January, Turkish giants Besiktas put in a €15m bid for the striker but Wolves rejected it, demanding between €25m and €30m.

Last summer, Wolves paid Genk €26m for Arokodare, so will be unwilling to accept anything less than that for him. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina tabled a proposal for the striker as part of their search for a wide attacker.

Trabzonspor another Turkish side have also shown interest in the Nigeria international and made their own unsuccessful move for him. After a bit of a sticky start Arokodare gradually found his bearings at Wolves and gradually got more game time but following the club's relegation, he would not want to compete in the second tier of English football.
